About the Moms: Mother’s Day Special

Infertility. Miscarriage. Joy. Triumph. Sadness. Grief. Pain. Celebration. Loneliness.  We are talking about all of the pieces that are a part of Motherhood.

This week, as we look ahead to Mother’ Day, we are joined by Lauren Frampton, Connie Greenhagen and Kristin Miller. 3 moms with 3 very different stories to bring you encouragement and maybe even some laughs. These women are graciously and honestly opening up about mothering in quarantine, failures, and diving into the different and sometimes painful roads to becoming moms.

No matter what your story is and whatever this day brings up for you we hope you feel seen, find hope and in the end we hope the stories of these incredible women point you to Jesus.

Available on the Podcast App, iTunes, Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts. Also available on our website at www.aboutthegirls.com

Episode 50: Water, Music & Surviving Social Distancing (w/Erin Schmidt)

Maybe you’re exhausted and just need to hear some encouraging words or maybe you’re looking for practical tips to help you thrive in this season. Either way, this conversation with Erin is a great one. A few of our favorite takeaways:

1. Do what works for YOUR family.

2. Don’t forget the long game, but also have some grace for yourself.

3. Use what you have.

4. Just add water and/or music

Thank you so much, Erin for joining us today and we will be the first listeners when you start your podcast for moms 😉

If you are a momma (or even if you’re not), share with us some tips, tricks, activities or just encouraging words that are helping you through this time! We would also love for you to tag a mom friend and let her know just how awesome she is. We will all get by with Jesus and a little help from our friends ❤️

About Mommin Through Chaos

Whether you’re trying to keep it together for your kids as you watch the news and take in all that is happening, you need some encouragement while you’re stuck inside with your littles, or if your heart just needs a reminder for the everyday, this episode is for you!

We have invited two incredible moms to join us for a special episode where we talk about the hard parts of motherhood and the lessons they’ve learned. The point of this episode is not to focus on the Coronavirus or the craziness that seems to be happening all around us. The point of this episode is to shift our focus, encourage our hearts, and remind us that our call to show our kids Jesus hasn’t changed. We are not powerless, things are not hopeless, and we GET to raise little people that see us continue to point to Jesus.

About the Crawl: Kourtney Bridges

About The Crawl

Kourtney is a mom of two sweet kids, a NICU nurse and just an incredible human being.

You know that thing that you never thought would be your story? The heartbreak that brings you to your knees and knocks the breath right out of you? Kourtney shares the story of walking through deep pain and becoming a single mom when her marriage suddenly ended, despite her desire and prayer that it would be saved.

Kourtney’s story is hard, but beautiful. She uses her words to remind us of God’s faithfulness. Kourtney shares her story with respect, care, and such grace, even as she details the moments she felt like she couldn’t get back up. We talk about how hard it is when you feel like you’re praying for the “right” thing and the answer is no, and how God is so faithful in giving us His best. She talks about the power of showing up for your girlfriends, whether it’s an encouraging text at the right time or a 4am coffee drop. This story is one that will remind you that God is near the broken-hearted, and that because of the hope we have in him, we can keep going, even if we have to crawl at first.

Rodney & Shannon Fouts, About Love and Parenting

About Love and Parenting

Rodney and Shannon Fouts share three children and they are the pastors of North Church in Oklahoma City.

For the final episode of February’s “Love and…” series, Kayla sat down with North Church pastors, Rodney and Shannon Fouts to talk Parenting. While they wanted to make it clear that no one has it all figured out, they offered so much wisdom and encouragement on raising kids and leading our homes well. This conversation is all about navigating activities while prioritizing church, loving our spouses well while we parent together, practical tips for making Jesus known in our homes and more. We even talk a little about the empty nest stage!

This is a conversation we hope every parent, every person who hopes to be a parent, or anyone who has influence over children will listen to. They say “it takes a village” and what better way to grow as parents than to take in wisdom from the people around us who do it well and are ahead of us? We are so grateful for Pastors Rodney and Shannon and their willingness to have this conversation. We hope you love it!

About Love & Friendship with Deb and Kay

About Love & Friendship

Kay Newberry is a wife, mom, grandmother, business owner and minister. Deb Anderson is a wife, mom, grandmother, and mother in law to show host, Kayla Anderson.

In part two of the “Love and…” series, Kayla sat down with her mother in law, Deb and Kay, Deb’s best friend to talk friendship. Deb and Kay have a friendship to be admired and they’re sharing insight and wisdom in what Godly friendship looks like, handling conflict, showing up for each other, how Jesus modeled friendship for us, and more. This episode is both encouraging and challenging. It will make you thankful for your “person” while pushing you to grow to be the best friend you can be. If you don’t have a “person” they are also talking about how we can ask God for that and trust him to bring the right people into our lives.

This is a fun listen and you will love hearing from Deb and Kay on how they’ve grown to have such a beautiful friendship of over 25 years!
